Mid-Week

Son Number One (and only) is due home tomorrow for three days before he goes back to college to (a) see his girlfriend graduate; (b) then accompany her with her family out of state for a week; (c) then return to campus for a summer of research with a prof. We expect him home sporadically.

Anyhow, his old car is for sale. I never got too attached to the '96 Grand Prix, but here it is in its only chance to make the blog.
Second item of note for today; that Green Springs community report I've been writing has "gone to press" and will be doled out in a couple meetings later this week. Yay. On to the next challenge.
And here is a quick survey of what's bloomin' in the yard. I always liken our yard in the summer to an extremely slow fireworks show, as bushes take their turn blooming in sequence. The big items here and now are the lilacs, some of those liberal pinko bleeding hearts, our apple trees (we have two; one actually bears edible apples), the occasional tulip, still the red bud tree (it hangs on for a long time), and the dogwoods, which are not having a spectacular year but are doing what they can.

Oh, and the holly kind of went crazy flowering this year as well. Holly blossoms are amazingly fragrant. This picture does not do the yellowness of the blooms justice. Nor does it depict the smell of all this flowering holly very adequately.

Lovely spring photos from the yard.

Good luck with selling the car. My husband is a Ford and Jeep man so we can't help you there....

Nice pictures! Who knew hollies bloomed, and that they had a fragrance? Not me. Is it a nice fragrance?

Actually, it smells pretty good.

Is that a white bleeding heart? I just bought a pink one.

Yes - we have a pink one and a white one.
